Lightner Peak is located in Kern County, 6 miles southwest of
Bodfish/Lake Isabella, 195 miles from Los Angeles. It lies within the
Sequoia National Forest.
Lightner Peak was added to the HPS Peak List
in 1970.

Peak Guides
HPS has two current documented routes to the peak. Route 1 is 4 miles round
trip with a total of 1600' of gain, and follows a pleasantly forested ridgeline
to the summit. Route 2 is 10 miles round
trip, 4500' gain, and follows the Remington Ridge Trail from near the Kern
River until near the peak, then cross-country to the summit.
