Peak Guides
HPS has three documented routes to the
peak. Route 1 is 4 miles round
trip with 1400' of gain, and ascends via a steep motorbike
track, and old road, and a use trail to the summit. The drive to the trailhead
can be a bit of a challenge.
Route 2 is more difficult: 8 miles
round trip, and 3100' total gain and includes road, interesting cross country,
and the inevitable (so near to Jawbone Canyon) motorbike track.
Route 3 is a challenging 5 miles round trip,
4200' gain, through remote canyons and along remote ridges with spectacular
views, before encountering a dirtbike track for the final approach.
