Split Mountain is located in Kern County, about 3 miles northwest of
Wofford Heights, 175 miles from Los Angeles. It lies within the
Sequoia National Forest.
Split Mountain was added to the HPS Peak List

Peak Guides
HPS has two current documented routes to the peak. Route 1 is 8 miles round
trip with a total of 2400' of gain (1500' to the peak, 900' on the way back),
following an old logging road to the ridge between Black
Mountain #5 and Split, then up and down along the ridge to the summit.
Route 2
is 3.5 miles one way and 1500' gain from Black
Mountain #5.
