27A Ranger Peak

Location: Riverside County, California

Named by the USFS for a fire lookout that once existed here consisting of a 20' open timber tower with an 8' x 8' wood cab (1935).

Variant name cited as "Ranger Lookout" on USFS Clevland National Forest map (1940).

Name first appears on USFS San Bernardino National Forest map (1963).

Peak was on the original 1946 HPS Peak List.
