Leader: Luella Fickle. Assts: Gordon Lindberg, Erich Fickle
Twelve met by 8:45 at the Lost Horse Trailhead. We climbed Lost Horse while chattering as the trail is an old jeep road so we could walk two abreast. The weather was sunny with clouds forming over Big Bear. By the time we were on the summit, it was very cloudy over San Jacinto. Clouds were spreading down the Desert Divide. We looked at the mine ruins on the return to the cars.
We drove to Keys View and started the major hike of the day, Dorothy Danziger's Hundred Peak: Mt Inspiration. The party moved briskly up the use trail to the summit blown along by the wind. Dorothy lead the summit push. She told us that the leaders who had helped her were there. She thanked Gordon, Richard, Southern and the Fickles. The day was getting cloudy and cold so we cut the party short and returned to the cars. Austin and Betty Stirratt needed to get home for another party. They left us there. It's good to see old friends.
Under cloudy skies and a very strong wind we hurried up Ryan. Gordon didn't need it and stayed in the car. Erich did sweep duty. We were back to the cars a good ten minutes ahead of the downpour.
The party animals were The Stirratt's, Dorothy, Richard Schamberg, Southern Courtney, Sandy, Neal Cosand, Evelyn Ann Kraner, Harriet Edwards, Gordon Lindberg, and The Fickles.
