Seventeen of our members and guests made the steep ascent of Eagle Rest Peak, and were treated to the spectacular view from its topmost boulders. A number of diversions increased the pleasure of the trip, in addition to the delightful fall weather - hunting for pinyon nuts while waiting for all the cars to bump down the narrow dirt road, seeing the juniper trees in berry along the sandy wash and finding fossilized shells near the top of the mountain. To complete the day, most of the group gathered together at the nearest cafe for food and refreshments.
