This was a great day to pick off three peaks at the East end of the San Gabriel Mountains. It was an all day trip carpooling up from the Mount Baldy carpooling point at 7:30AM.
At Ice House Saddle we split the group into two, the ones who wanted Bighorn, originally not listed in the schedule, and those who wanted to go straight to Ontario. We all met at Ontario for lunch. In all there were 18 people.
Craig led us down to Sugarloaf via the ridge from Ontario. After getting Sugarloaf we coasted down the scree slope to Falling Rock Canyon where we bouldered to the bottom and picked up the trail again at the stream. Phil Bruce told some of the funniest jokes I have ever heard as we went down the canyon.
People were pretty worn out when we got back to the cars at about 6PM.
