Owens Peak is located in Kern County, about 12 miles west-northwest of
Inyokern, 159 miles from Los Angeles. It lies within the
Owens Peak Wilderness.
Owens Peak was added to the HPS Peak List
in 1972. It is also
on the Sierra Peaks Section
Peak List.

Peak Guides
HPS has one current documented route to the peak. Route 1 is 7 miles round
trip with a total of 3200' of gain, and follows the signed Owens Peak Trail
(steep,
with some boulders and slab walking) to the summit.
